Incident Response and Handling

Although not a new discipline, incident response and handling is an area that is of increasing and renewed importance in the overall practice of information security. This renewed focus has been driven by the rapidly developing nature of the modern cyber threat landscape, rendering traditional protective measure inadequate and highlighting the requirement for effective and capable incident response in order to address risks appropriately. This article reviews the theory and practice of incident response and handling, while providing practical insights to assist the reader in the planning and effective management of incident response efforts.
