The Information Security Group Open Day 2018


Date:               Tuesday 26th June 2018

                        Egham Hill, Egham, Surrey TW20 0EX

We are pleased to announce that the Information Security Group (ISG) will be holding our sixth ISG Alumni Conference on the 25th June 2018[1], followed by our 2nd ISG Open Day on 26th June 2018.

Our open day is designed for anyone with an interest in cyber security to come along and learn more about security, the ISG, our research and our partners. The programme is jam-packed, we have keynote lectures, sound-bite talks and presentations as well as activities and demonstrations. Professor Colin Williams (SBL, Honorary Fellow University of Warwick) will present Project Cybersynco and the story behind the attempt to build a networked nationwide computer system constructed according to Cybernetics theory. Professor Steve Babbage (Vodafone, Visiting Professor RHUL) will present The road to 5G Security.

We aim is to showcase and present many different aspects of information security,  the achievements and the widely recognised contribution of the ISG in the field of Information Security, as well as current opportunities for cyber security training and research.  There will be an exhibit of one of the famous Enigma Machines from Bletchley Park, which were used during World War Two and there are talks and activities on a variety of themes from our research groups: cryptography, smart cards and the Internet of Things, systems security, people and security, and many more!

Parking spaces will be freely available on campus, you will be able to enjoy free refreshments on our newly built Founder's Square, and a street food lunch in the iconic Founder's building quad.
